Giant Betta Plakat (Betta Splendens)

Originally from Southeast Asia - Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam but can now be found in other countries due to selective breeding.

Found in freshwater regions such as rice paddies, shallow pools and slow moving streams.

Males can reach sizes of 5 to 7 inches, very occasionally more.

Females tend to be smaller, between 2.5 to 4.5 inches, but can reach 5 inches in optimal conditions.

They come in a vast array of colours and tail types and are often more active and less aggressive than some of smaller Bettas.

This makes them a great choice for enthuisasts.
