1. About Us
Broadheath Bettas is a UK-based seller of live ornamental fish, other livestock and accessories. All fish are personally selected and sold as individual livestock items.
These Terms govern every contract for the sale of goods via our Wix-hosted website. By placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
2. Product Information
2.1 Each betta fish is listed individually with photographs and descriptions.
2.2 Images shown are of the actual fish for sale unless otherwise stated.
2.3 Slight changes in fish colour, finnage, or behaviour may occur after listing.
2.4 Live fish and frozen fish food are perishable items.
3. Ordering & Payment
3.1 You must be 18 or over to order.
3.2 All orders must be paid in full at the time of purchase at checkout via
our secure payment provider. Title remains with us until payment is received.
3.3 Orders are accepted subject to availability of healthy stock
3.4 Orders are confirmed once payment has been received and you have been notified by email
3.5 We reserve the right to cancel and refund any order at our discretion.

4. Delivery & Shipping
We're keen to get your new fish delivered to you as fast as we possibly can.
When we receive your order, we carefully prepare and package your fish for transit, and arrange next day collection by our courier.
Our courier will then deliver to you within 24 hours.
4.1 All fish are carefully checked by us before transit
4.2 Fish are shipped via a specialist courier service within the UK.
4.3 Dispatch days are typically Monday to Wednesday to avoid exposing the fish to long weekend transit times.
4.4 Delivery days are Tuesday - Friday
Deliveries are made via next-day courier on the agreed date
4.5 Customers must ensure someone is available to receive the delivery on the first attempt.
4.6 It is the customer’s responsibility to provide accurate delivery details.
4.7 We are not responsible for delays caused by the courier, incorrect addresses, or missed deliveries. ​​​​​​​​​​

5. Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG)
We offer a Live Arrival Guarantee ensuring your fish arrive alive and healthy, provided that:
5.1 In the sad event of a DOA (dead on arrival), customers must:

Ensure that delivery is accepted on the first attempt

The parcel is opened and examined immediately upon arrival

You must provide clear photographic evidence of the unopened internal bag and fish inside
within 1 hour of delivery.

5.2 Once your loss is confirmed, we will either:
Replace your fish completely free of charge (depending on our stock), or
Refund the cost of the fish (excluding shipping costs)
5.3 The guarantee will be void if:

Delivery is missed or delayed by the customer

Incorrect shipping details are provided

Issues arise after the fish has been removed from the transport bag

There is poor acclimatisation, unsuitable tank conditions, cycling or water quality issues.

Delays or mishandling by the courier
6. Acclimatisation & Care
6.1 Customers are responsible for proper acclimatisation of fish upon arrival.
6.2 We strongly recommend following our Easy Guide to Cycling your Tank and Preparation for Your New Tropical Fish.
6.3 We are not responsible for losses due to improper care, tank conditions, or incompatibility with other fish.
7. Returns & Refunds
7.1 Due to the nature of live fish, returns are not accepted.
7.2 Refunds or replacements are only issued under the Live Arrival Guarantee conditions outlined above.
7.3 Refunds for non-livestock, non-perishable items:
If you decide an item you purchased is not right for you, returns are accepted within 14 days if unused, undamaged and in original packaging (you pay return postage).
The cost of the item, plus original postage cost will be refunded to you.​​
8. Customer Responsibility and Health after Delivery
8.1 By purchasing fish from us, you confirm that:

You have a suitable, cycled aquarium

You understand basic betta fish care requirements
8.2 We reserve the right to refuse a sale if we believe the fish may be at risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
9.1 To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, Broadheath Bettas shall not be liable for:

Any indirect or consequential losses including emotional distress, further purchases or veterinary expenses

Losses arising from misuse or improper care
9.2 Our liability is limited to the purchase price of the fish.
10. Your Consumer Rights
10.1 Live fish and frozen fish food are excluded from the 14 day cooling off period because they are perishable. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 still apply (goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality)
11. Privacy
11.1 Customer information is used solely for order processing and delivery.
11.2 We do not sell or share personal data with third parties, except where required to fulfil delivery. See our PRIVACY POLICY
12. Changes to Terms
12.1 We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time.
