Chevron Snakehead Albino (Channa striata)

Also known as the Striped Snakehead or Haruan, Channa striata is native to a vast range across South and Southeast Asia, including Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and southern China.

This albino form lacks the typical dark chevron patterning of the wild type, instead showing a pale golden-white body with striking red or pink eyes.

It's a large, predatory species that will only tolerate tank mates of equal or larger size, and should not be kept with anything small enough to be viewed as prey.

We recommend a very large aquarium with plenty of open swimming space and some rocks or driftwood for hiding places, along with a gap at the water's surface for air access, and a heavy, tight-fitting lid, as snakeheads are accomplished jumpers.
