Channa Limbata Lawu (Channa limbata)

"Lawu" refers to a specific locality variant of Channa limbata collected from the Mount Lawu region of Java, Indonesia, prized among collectors for its well-defined, often thick red rim along the edges of the fins.

Like other Channa limbata, it's a dwarf snakehead species, staying considerably more compact than many of the larger Channa, which makes it a more manageable option for hobbyists wanting to keep a snakehead without needing an enormous aquarium.

We recommend a large, well-planted tank with open swimming space alongside plenty of hiding spots such as rocks, driftwood and caves, and a secure, tight-fitting lid, as this species is an excellent jumper.
