Red Dragon Super Delta (Betta Splendens)

These fish display a vivid red rose copper body carrying the dragon scale gene, which gives thick, armour-like scaling with a metallic sheen. The dragon scale genetics mean the pattern can continue to develop with age, and these fish are best appreciated under good directional lighting to bring out the depth of the scaling.

As a super delta, this fish displays a wide tail spread approaching 180 degrees, without quite reaching the full spread of a halfmoon.

Juveniles often don’t display full colouration and become more and more vivid as they age, making them fascinating to watch as they change.
